This grabbed me because my very first job at the age of 14 was being an Avon representative.  Well, really an apprentice for our neighborhood’s Avon lady because the Avon people said I was too young to have my own territory.  Her name was Rhoda and I thought she was very glamorous, and she gave  me my own sample case of Avon make up with millions of lipsticks.  I felt very sophisticated.  I sold lots of make up to my grandmother–always my most loyal customer!
